We are very proud of Farrah who has raised nearly £2000 for charity! She was inspired by a young boy, Kai Laidlaw who is battling cancer. Thousand of people watched Farrah have her very long hair cut last weekend at the Hibs stadium – she lost 16 inches of hair! The hair will be donated to the Little Princess Trust, who provide wigs and hair pieces for children who suffer hair loss due to cancer treatment.
You can read more about Farrah on the Evening News website, and you can donate to her Just Giving Page.
Well done to Charlie Mabbott in Primary 5 for representing Scotland at diving in the Celtic Cup in Belfast last weekend. Charlie won an individual bronze medal and helped Scotland retain the overall trophy!
Congratulations to the pupils in P6a and P6b who took part in the Active Schools Sports @ the Hub event at Forrester High School this week. Over 1200 children from across Edinburgh participated in learning skills for various sports, and then taking part in competitions to find the winning schools. Liberton Primary took part in the cricket and judo events, and both teams did fantastically well – with the Judo team coming first and bringing the trophy back to school!
Recently our basketball team competed in the Inter-area Basketball Tournament, against other schools from across the Lothians, coming a very close second, with only one point difference between us and the winners, Berwick Law. We’re very proud of the effort and skill of the team, and are very thankful to Mrs Bremner’s hard work and dedication in training and supporting our pupils so well.
Recently, our team from Liberton took part in the Edinburgh Primary Swim and Dive Gala. The annual event is a celebration of swimming and aquatics. It brings together 45 primary schools and over 500 youngsters from across the city to show off their swimming and diving skills.
We are very proud of the effort our team made, and delighted that Danny won his diving event for the second year running, and Grace came third in her category. Well done everyone!
