Library book donations
A huge thanks for all of the books kindly donated for our Treetops library. We are busy putting books onto the system and have a good number now, so we don’t need any more donations at the moment.
Once all of the books are on the system we will let you know if more are needed!
Thank You to Mrs Smith, Mrs MacKintosh and our fabulous group of parents for all their efforts
Headteacher update: Another amazing week at Liberton Primary I have been getting to know our children in a variety of different contexts; class, breakfast club, lunches and playground which I have thoroughly enjoyed.
This term is traditionally one of the busiest with lots going on. As we countdown for the Winter break, this year there is no exception. I hope you will be able to find time to join us in the many activities which are taking place between now and the end of 2018. Our first event begins next week with Children in Need.
This week, I met with class representatives and visited the nursery to get children’s ideas and suggestions on how we are going to recognise Children in Need this year at Liberton
Please click the link below or view our calendar for a comprehensive list of important diary dates for the year ahead at Liberton, as well as meeting dates for the Liberton Primary School Association(LPSA).
The LPSA always welcome support from our families. If you are happy to volunteer your help or services to any of the LPSA events, please email your interest to firstname.lastname@example.org. These dates can also be viewed on the LPSA page.
The diary list also includes costings for the year for events to support our families to budget ahead.
The Mini Mudder event will be held at Liberton Primary on Saturday! This adventurous day is to help raise funds funds for Joe Clapperton’s appeal for further resources for pre-teen children at Edinburgh’s Sick Kids hospital.
We hope that many people will come along to take part, to watch and to provide encouragement. Remember – if you’d like to take part, it’s not too late! You could make a donation or collect sponsorship money. Additional sponsor forms are available from the school office.
Refreshments will be provided by the Liberton After School Club, and we hope to see lots of people there for what promises to be a very entertaining fun-filled day!
The Liberton After School Club will be selling ice cream from the LASC room on Thursday the 15th and Friday 16th September at the end of each day. All proceeds will go towards Joe’s fundraising campaign. Please bring money to school if you would like some ice cream!
We are hosting a fabulous event next weekend on Saturday 30th of April from 11am to 1pm, organised by Mrs Pacitti, our Clerical Assistant. Please come along to help raise money for The Eve Appeal, which works towards protecting women from gynaecological cancers through funding research, and promoting awareness for better detection and risk prediction.
It promises to be an incredible morning, with cakes, games, a prize raffle, glitter tattoos and face painting, alternative therapies, a character appearance and much more!
We hope to see you there!
We would like to thank everyone involved in helping this year’s Great Libby Bake Off to be such an incredible success!
We were astounded at the talented children and parents who worked incredibly hard to bake and donate such delicious and attractive cakes, biscuits and goodies.
Our parent volunteers and P6 pupils did a tremendous job with selling the cakes and we were quite overwhelmed by the generosity of all who donated their time and talent.
Congratulations to our winners in the competition:
1st Prize – Craig (P2a)
2nd Prize – Anya (P4b) and Josh (P3b)
3rd Prize – Emily (P7a) and Joe (P6b)
Highly commended certificates were awarded to – Thomas (P2a), Peter (P2a), Murray (P5b), Alex (P7a), Rebecca (P7b) and Louis (P6b)
We have raised an astonishing £406 to go toward the P7 residential trip to Benmore next year.
This year, with the support of LPSA, our Primary 6 classes are organising The Great Libby Bake Off Challenge and Bake Sale. We would like to raise some money to go towards our residential trip to Benmore in P7.
To do this, we’ll be holding a bake sale on Wednesday 23rd March.
We are looking for donations of home baking to help us in our fundraising efforts, to be brought to school on either Tuesday 22nd March or the morning of Wednesday 23rd March.
All children and school staff will have the opportunity to buy the tasty treats.
There will be a competition and prizes for the best decorated cakes with the theme of our school colours. After judging, portions of the cakes will be sold. Donations do not have be entered into the competition though.
We would greatly appreciate donations of home baking, and entries into the competition to help with our fundraising efforts.
