Please come along to our fabulous Christmas Fair on Saturday from 2pm – 4pm for a fun-filled afternoon. There will be a Christmas grotto; craft and gift stalls; LASC cafe and choir; fun scientists; face-painting; toys and books; games; raffle and more…
Entry is £1 per adult (free admission for children).
Final orders for the Christmas cards will be take by the office until Monday at noon – so don’t miss out!
Also we need your help!
The Christmas card template shown in the picture has been printed with a name that is not a pupil at the school… So if you have not received your card order form may be you could show this one to your child to see if it is theirs.
Please help us reunite this brilliant artwork with their owners. If it yours please comment below or message me on the LPSA FB page www.facebook.com/LibertonPSA and we can arrange any order you would like to make.
Thank you to the wonderful LPSA for subsidising our trip to the Brunton Theatre this year to see Cinderella by paying the ticket costs for all the children. Letters for the remaining cost of the trip will be in school bags today.
Its the beginning of the academic year and the LPSA have the good intention of being organised (it may not last but we are trying!), so here we are dates for your diaries!
Firstly, stuff for the kids….
The highly anticipated school disco will return to the school hall on the evening of Friday 13 November. This fantastically fun evening sees the children dance the night away as well as offering surprise guests, games and a tuck shop so don’t miss it!
Saturday 5 December is also an event not to miss – the fabulous Christmas Fair has craft stalls to purchase all the necessary Christmas pressies, fun craft activities for the children, a raffle and a star appearance from the man himself – Santa Claus!
Now for the adults…
Every year a group of parents pull together and with a lot of hard work and time hold a number of amazing events to entertain the family and raise valuable funds for the school. Before Christmas your children will be benefitting from new sound and lighting systems for the school stage as well as a subsidised trip to the pantomime as a result of this effort. I am sure you’ll agree the time and work put in is repaid by the benefits to the children. We are always looking for volunteers as these events need a lot of helpers – in fact the scale of the events will depend greatly on the number of volunteers we have – the bigger the better we say! So please let us know how you can help, no matter how large or small it may seem to you we can assure you that any help is always very gratefully received.
To make the LPSA even more accessible to the parent body we will be holding our first daytime meeting on Monday 5 October, 9-10.30 in the huts (round the back of the school). This meeting will mainly be focusing on events and fundraising but Mr Ewing has kindly agreed to join us for a time during this meeting. As ever, everybody is welcome including babies and toddlers!
Don’t worry if the daytime meeting is not suitable for you, our next evening meeting will be held on Wednesday 18 November, 7-9pm in the staff room.
Here’s to another brilliant year ahead!
Welcome back and a big welcome to all the new P1 families!
The first meeting of this academic year will be held Tonight at 7pm in the staff room – everyone is welcome and it would be lovely to see some new faces.
The LPSA offers a brilliant way to get involved in school life but it needs your active support and participation to have the most positive impact. We do this by working closely with the Headteacher and his staff on a wide range of issues that affect your children and the school. We meet every few months and talk about the curriculum, school and local authority policies, new initiatives and opportunities for the kids. We also organise events on behalf of the school community which in turn help to raise valuable additional funds. You don’t have to sign up to do anything in particular but all help – big and small – and all views on school issues are welcome.
Sign up to stay in touch (with no obligation at all) by liking our Facebook page www.facebook.com/libertonpsa.
We look forward to seeing you this evening!
