P6 Activities Week

This week, both Primary 6 classes have had an amazing time, taking part in lots of outdoor, sporting and adventurous activities. On Monday, we visited Fordell Firs Outdoor Activity Centre, on Tuesday we had an outdoor learning day, on Wednesday we visited Jupiter Artland, on Thursday we took part in lots of different sports (judo, cricket, and tae kwon do), and on Friday we chose from a range of activities.

Please watch the videos below to see how we got on – and the children would really appreciate your comments!

Outdoor and Adventurous Activities for Older Pupils

outdoor easter

The City of Edinburgh Council, Sports and Outdoor Learning Unit are launching their Easter 2015 school holiday programme.  Two weeks of outdoor and adventurous activities are available to pupils P6 – S4.  All sessions start in Edinburgh and activities include climbing, mountain biking, archery, hill walking, and canoeing.  Detailed session information and booking details are here.

Running Club

Children in our weekly running club led by Mr Ewing have been out bright and early to enjoy a run in Inch Park every Friday morning – look at these fantastic photos taken as the sun was rising and there was still mist on the ground – what a great way to start the day!

If anyone is interested in joining, please let Mr Ewing know.

Update from Benmore Centre for Outdoor Learning

benmore

Our Primary 7 classes are enjoying lovely weather at Benmore, and are having a great time. So far they’ve done lots of activities including kayaking, gorge walking, a forest walk, abseiling, shore walking with cliff jumping, ropes and trapeze. They’ve done a night walk and night time scavenger hunt too.

They’re all exhausted by the end of the day and are even putting lights out early!

We’re looking forward to hearing their stories when they return, and will update the website with more information then.
