Weekly Newsletter 22nd March 2024

Highlights from this week at Liberton Primary

  • Congratulations to our pupils who played as part of the Primary 7 Edinburgh Schools Orchestra at the Usher Hall on Monday night.  It was a tremendous performance in front of a sold-out house of 2200 people. Both the musicians and the audience loved it!  Well done to Zaara, Iona, Julian, Robin, Amelia, Florian, Lennox, Stas and Adam.
  • On Tuesday P6B worked with our artist in residence.
  • On Wednesday Primary 6 hosted the Great Libby Bake off (see below for more info).
  • It was lovely to see so many families in school on Wednesday and Thursday for our Parent Consultations.  Thank you also to the LPSA for organising our uniform recycling stall.
  • On Thursday our assembly for P4-7 focussed on the Hindu celebration of Holi.

Annual Survey of Parent Views

We would love to hear the views of our parents and carers about what is going well at Liberton Primary and what we could do to make our school even better.  Please complete this brief Form to give feedback on our school. (It should take about 5 minutes). https://forms.office.com/e/GPiptWE2vB

Great Libby Bake Off

Well done to everyone who baked (and shopped) for the Great Libby Bake Off. There was an amazing selection of cakes from our very talented bakers. The winning entries were 1st Place:  Annabelle,  2nd Place: Luna, 3rd Place:  Zaara and Leena.  Photos of their brilliant work can be found in the attachments. Well done to the P6 classes who raised £460 towards funding their trip to Benmore.

Parking and Road Safety

A reminder to all parents to park safely and with consideration within our local community.  It is an offence to block roads, driveways or access.

We have also had concern raised about individuals on electric bikes driving recklessly around the school during collection times.  The police have been informed.  Please be aware of this risk to pedestrians and vehicles as you leave the school.

Lost Property

We have a large selection of lost property in the reception area. This has been sorted into various sections for ease of finding specific items. Please come in and have a look before the end of next week, as any leftover items will be placed into the clothing bin or passed to the LPSA for recycling, thanks.

International Cookbook

The LPSA have decided to make a fundraising cookbook, to celebrate how international our school is. If you have a favourite recipe, please fill out the form attached and send it to lpsa.communications@gmail.com
Please submit Scottish/British recipes too – we would love to celebrate everyone’s favourite foods.
Although we ask that recipes are not taken directly from another cookbook / website for copyright reasons, as soon as you make some little tweak, that is OK e.g. maybe you like your pancakes pink!
