  • Also on Wednesday, a group of children from Primary 3B began their Forest School adventure with Mrs Govan.
  • Unfortunately, due to the heavy rain we could not have our planned Loose Parts Learning day on Wednesday, but we will reschedule as soon as possible.
  • On Thursday, our Nursery to P3 children took part in a Chinese New Year assembly.
  • Also on Thursday, our Literacy through Latin lessons continued for Primary 6.
  • On Friday, Primary 5A visited the Royal Scottish Museum to learn about Scotland’s changing landscape as well as science and technology related to water.
  • Also on Friday, we were delighted to welcome the Edinburgh Schools Primary 7 Orchestra as they rehearse for their upcoming concert at the Usher Hall.

Coming up

  • All of next week we will be celebrating our wonderfully international school community by hosting another One World Week.  This year’s focus will be music from around the world and children will be learning about different musical styles and artists. Thank you to all the parents who have offered to share information about their countries and heritages through visits and online calls.
  • On Tuesday, we will welcome Alice Dansey-Wright, who will be our Artist in Residence from the Fruitmarket Gallery for the next two years.  Alice will be working mainly with Primary 6 and we are delighted to have her joining us.
  • On Wednesday we will be holding our One World Week celebration after school (See below for details). Please come along and try food from around the world.  We will also be having a dress up/dress down day on that day.  Children can wear clothing of their choice.  If children have clothing that celebrates their heritage that would be very welcome.  National team sports strips could be worn as well.
  • On Thursday, the Royal Observatory will be bringing their mobile planetarium to school to work with Primary 7 and Primary 2 children.
  • On Friday we will conclude our One world Week with an assembly for Primary 4 to Primary 7.

Guitar club at Liberton Primary

After school guitar club will be continuing into a new block and looking for new starts to add to the exciting program we have on offer.

We have two class slots 3.20-3.50 and 3.50-4.20pm every Thursday .

We are learning how to learn songs you love! With no stress or pressure just how to get started on the guitar where your own pace will be encouraged and we have a fun music quiz at the end!

For any enquiries please contact Dylan Mitchell at jardonme@icloud.com or on 07813387556.

I have kept the cost as low as possible with the rising costs we all face.

Your library, your say

An engagement and consultation process is currently being carried out to gather views and feedback on service provision. This will help shape a new strategy for Edinburgh’s libraries and inform future proposals for change. Between the 26th of   January and 19th of April we’re asking you to get involved in this first stage by having your say and helping us to shape a new plan that will ensure the library service is sustainable and fit for the future. More information and link to the online questionnaire can be found at https://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/futurelibraries
